In case you haven't seen elsewhere on my website. As of March 2020 I have gone to ONLINE LESSONS ONLY for the immediate forseeable future.
Well, it's been two months now...I am happy to report online guitar lessons have been going GREAT!! They really have far exceeded my expectations on what I felt was possible with this system. I have really been enjoying the opportunity to try out a new method of teaching and it's helped me bring some fresh approaches to what I do; and I hope to continue refining the process! Things that really help on everyone's end: a stable internet connection, an up to date modem/wifi router (or direct wired connection), and a device capable of handling a live stream (most ipads/tablets and computers work great..phones have been hit or miss depending on the model). So far Skype has been the best system I have used. Facetime and Zoom also work well but I've found there to be occasional and minor audio issues with zoom and minor video issues with facetime. Plus Skype allows you to record the lesson for later viewing, which has been super useful. Regardless, whatever you like to use for video calls I can try and work with you on my end. Everything has been running super smoothly here!
Sadly, all my live shows have been put on hold for the time being. Summer is the busiest time of year for us gigging musicians and I'm super bummed that I won't be able to perform at the numerous shows I had planned for the next several months. I did a live stream a few weeks ago and hope to do a few more in the future. I will publish any links here on my CALENDAR page if and when that happens.
As we eventually move into Phase 2 some non-essential buisnesses will begin opening for in-person transactions on a limited basis. Who knows what that will look like or what it will really mean (or how safe it will actually be). These are still really uncertain times and with that in mind I will be continuing to offer online lessons only for the immediate forseeable future. I want to and plan on coming back to teaching in person, but only after it is deemed absolutely 100 percent safe to do so, anything else I think would be irresponsible on my part. Safety is absolutely of the upmost importance to me. The upside of this is you get to have music lessons from the comfort, safety, and convienience of your own home. Thanks again everyone for your interest in my music lessons...I look forward to continuing to serve the Seattle music community now and into the future!
